Untapt

About

Tenacity. Humility.  Belief in our clients.

History

Long before Untapt officially began, founder John Elliott became fascinated with the mechanics of effective teams. Whether he was playing high school basketball, teaching his second grade students or pastoring Christ Community Church, the same questions persisted. What makes for a healthy team? Why do some teams perform better than others? How do leaders get the most out of their team members? And how can best practices be applied in a way that is simple and reproducible? With these questions in mind, John spent the last decade reading books, listening to podcasts, interviewing world-class leaders and leading teams of his own. Eventually he began to package all that he had learned and apply it to their teams. In the process of doing so, John became energized, their teams became healthier and additional opportunities began to emerge. Sensing that God was doing something bigger than what he could steward alone, he invited two of his most trusted and gifted friends to join the team, and Untapt was born.

John Elliott

From his upbringing on a small family farm to his teaching days in inner city Atlanta to his leadership experiences at the University of Illinois to his pastoral role with Christ Community Church, John brings a unique collection of perspectives to the table as founder and president of Untapt Consulting. A cursory glance at his vocational journey may spark confusion in some, but those who know him recognize a common thread throughout his life—a passion for helping people he believes in reach their full potential. Principal Consultant

Lee Hoffman

Two characteristics that are most recognizable in Lee are leadership and creativity. These attributes have proven to be beneficial as a teacher in the classroom, a coach on the basketball court, a youth and adult leader at church, a board member of local nonprofits, and as a principal in the hallways of multiple schools. These same characteristics of leadership and creativity are what he offers in his work as a consultant with Untapt. One of his greatest passions is the opportunity to leverage his abilities and experiences to maximize potential in individuals and organizations.
